Bakåt:Framåt - Sweden´s first fair for vintage
In the past couple of years, vintage has become more and more popular in Sweden. These days it’s not only small shops that sell older exclusive pieces of clothing but even department stores such as PUB and Souk, are concentrating on vintage.
Today and tomorrow (26-27 September) Northern Europe´s first vintage show for clothing is taking place in Stockholm. Retailers from all over the country are taking part in the show, which is housing on 1200 square meters inside Enskilda Galleriet.
Nowadays the interest for old clothes is just as big as the interest for new. Everybody wants to be unique and the range of second hand is only getting better. In the 90's it was UFF shops that dominated when it came to vintage but now it is available everywhere from city department stores to the internet.
Under one roof, both private retailers and more well known second hand shops such as Myrornas and Judit Herr are showcasing their assortment of clothing and accessories.
A part from Bakåt:Framåt (backwards:forwards) there is only one other vintage show that focuses on clothing, The Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show in New York. As mentioned this is Sweden's first vintage clothing show, but it has already been decided that Bakåt:Framåt, will be back again in late February.
Bakåt:Framåt takes place September 26-27 at Enskilda Galleriet, Kronobergsgatan 37, Stockholm. Admission fee is 50 kr.
