Blog - Ms Shopaholic

So finally this blog is on track.  After four months of leisurley procrastinating in South East Asia, this little shopoholic thinks she should set the record straight.  Who is she?  What does she do?  Where does she shop? Handbags or shoes? Those important questions which generally lets you know whom a person is.  Whether you like them or not?  Whether you will read on or not?

Isabelle, thats me, named after a hotel in Mexico, which may not sound too glamorous but i am thankful for otherwise you may have been reading Patricias blog or even worse, Petronella.  Luckily my father travelled to Mexico in 1985 and stayed at a beautiful little Mexican villa named the Marie-Isabelle, and thereafter managed to convince my mother not to name me after Cinderellas dreadful stepsister.

In '92 my world turned upside down, or the world as i knew it at the age of seven.  We moved to Bangkok.  Thailand.  An oriental country far outside my global horizon.  I'm sure you've heard of it by now. The only Swede in a school of 800 students, i was proud of my origin.  And between the pollution, traffic and spicy culture, my infaction for fashion began to blossom.  From my mothers navy Chanel handbag with gold finishes to my sister's skimpy orange Björn Borg one piece.

After eleven years of running around through crowded oriental markets, a one year stunt at a Fashion Degree in Melbourne, I finally took the leap and travelled the 6700 miles back to my motherland.  With limited Swedish in my vocabulary,  an even worse sense of spelling, and fewer contacts in my adress book than Tom Ford after he left Gucci.

And now 3 years later here I am, Isabelle, Senior Shopping Editor for alamode.se.
