Razorsharp creases – by yourself
Buying quality and caring for your clothes is something that I have always promoted. It so happens that it is also very much in fashion right now – this is what is called intelligent shopping. We took some help from designer Camilla Norrback to show how you get your trousers perfect – on your own.
Caring for your clothes starts when you are in the shop. It is essential that you buy good quality. According to Camilla wool is the superb material for trousers that you want to fix on your own. It is a natural material that is flexible and easy to work with.

Start by hand washing the trousers in not more than 30 degrees. After that you hang them to dry (no dryer or anything like that – just hang them). Just before the trousers are completely dry you get a friend to help you out a bit. The most important now is to find the line and a trick is to use the seamlines at the end of the leg.

Once this is done and the trousers look right though still wrinkly you move them over to the ironing board where you start with ironing the trouser legs. Camilla prefers when the iron is very hot and there is a lot of steam. Just be cautious not to let the iron rest because that can give heat marks that will ruin your trousers. When the legs are ironed and the crease goes all the way up on the front as well as the back you put the top part of the trousers over the short end of the ironing board. Iron the trousers all the way around and – voila – your trousers are perfect and you will never need a dry cleaner again in your life!

A big thank you to Camilla Norrback for sharing some of her knowledge.
