Hope
Saying that it was another rather uninspired collection from Hope might be a bit unfair. This since the men´s collection is much stronger than the one for women. With the men´s collection the ideas work all the way so it might be an idea to drop women´s wear and get a bit of focus instead.
Tiger of Sweden
After a somewhat strange adventure with the spring/summer collection Tiger of Sweden is back on track. If making power suits where better to look for inspiration than the home of the double headed eagle.
Acne
Acne showed their autumn/winter 2009 collection at phenomenally beautiful art museum Millesgården in Stockholm. Showing one kind of art among another one is bold but also a bit risky. You decide if Acne pulled it off.
Whyred
Whyred was the second label this fashion week to choose an art hall for the show. This collection was quite different from the explosion of colour and playfulness that we saw in the spring/summer collection. A step back towards the more elegant and tailored.
Carin Wester
Carin Wester showed her collection for autumn/winter 2009 in her normal very specific style, though perhaps a bit more commercial than before. She has a very specific style which is a mix of mainstream, etno, rock and something more theatrical. The latter is more visible in the men´s wear collection.
The Local Firm
For most new labels it takes about five seasons to get it right; The Local Firm has managed to achieve this in three. The collection for autumn/winter 2009 shows a nicely balanced collection that we would like to see in the shops... now!
Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair
Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair have showed their anticipated autumn/winter collection. Like in previous collections they mainly work with black but additional colours and forms keep popping up in their quest for the perfect simplicity.
